A Thank You from the 2017 Australian Showjumping Championships Committee

To the greater show jumping and equestrian community,

It’s with great pride that we extend our thanks to the show jumping fraternity, our extended equestrian family along with our friends and fans for the generous support given to the Australian Showjumping Championships over the last six years. It has been an honour to watch this event go from strength to strength, as anticipation and participation have grown each year, whilst we have had the privilege of running the event at Werribee National Equestrian Centre.

It has been a pleasure to host a flourishing show jumping community on our stage that has facilitated the growth and development of our youngest members in the Children’s classes to our most accomplished senior representatives, right here in Australia. We have taken great pride in fostering a growing interest in show jumping in the equestrian community and beyond, as well encouraging competitive development in an inclusive environment for all participants at an internationally regarded domestic event. These development pathways have facilitated a notable growth in the exemplary quality of both horses and riding year on year to bring the event to a world-class level.

The Australian Showjumping Championships this year also proudly played host to a 2018 World Equestrian Games qualifying event, and it was our utmost pleasure to facilitate this integral part in the journey of our senior riders to represent Australia on an international stage.

We wish to extend our sincerest gratitude to our valued Chair of Jumping Victoria, Paul Williams, for his unwavering commitment to and enthusiasm for the sport, and the fostering of its progression in our event.

In addition, the contributions of the committee, volunteers and event staff, who immeasurably have given their time and efforts, have been an integral element of the event’s success and for this, we have the greatest appreciation.

We offer our generous sponsors our gratitude for their ongoing support that each year lifts the event to be Australia’s —- premier show jumping event. It was incredibly exciting to see our Pryde’s EasiFeed arena become a crowd-drawing hub of activity over the five days of competition, in addition to the popular Barton Equine, Carson Property and Equestrian Victoria arenas that hosted a confluence of talent and supporters at all levels. We extend our thanks to our valued photographer Stephen Mowbray for capturing the wonderful moments that took place in these arenas during the event.

It’s with enthusiasm that we offer our congratulations to Boneo Park in their successful application to host the Australian Showjumping Championships for 2018 – 2020. It is an honour to “pass the baton” to the Boneo Park team and we wish them all the best in their undertaking of running the event in the future.

The Organising Committee.
